Introduction:
Bandhavgarh National Park is a must visit place in India. It is located in Madhya Pradesh. This National Park was a royal hunting ground of the Rajas and Maharajas of Rewa and the tigers were shot for the sports. Today, Bandhavgarh is of great conservative interest for the tigers and other species of animals residing here. The density of tiger is highest in this sanctuary than any other National Parks of India. The albino or the white tiger was first found here and the white tiger Mohan was captured here in the Bandhavgarh National Park in 1951. Many of the white tigers in the world are descendant of Mohan.
Species available:
Bandhavgarh is a moist dense deciduous forest. It is of the most important wildlife sanctuary in India. It has the highest density of tiger population and a sincere place for the wildlife preservers and enthusiasts. This park is home to the white albino tigers and also to many other species. There are many other rare species moving around in the forest of Bandhavgarh National Park. Animals like sloth bear, gaur, sambar, chital, muntjac, nilgai, chinkara and wild pigs are some of the rare species found here in Bandhavgarh. One can also visit one of the oldest forts of Bandhavgarh estimated to be as old as 2000 years back. Once the tigers used to roam freely in Bandhavgarh but due to extensive hunting there was a severe drop in the population of the tigers. The rare white tiger of Rewa was found in this place. This National Park posses about 250 different species of birds all around the forest. The reptile population of Bandhavgarh includes cobra, krait, viper, rat snake, python, turtle, and various lizard varieties including varanus. One can enjoy the view of the popular Royal Bengal Tiger, chitals, gaurs, sambar and many other faunal animals.

The main airport for Bandhavgarh is Jabalpur and Khajuraho airport. They are the prime transporter for air travelers of Bandhavgarh. It links with the major cities of neighboring states and also with the local cities. Katni at 120 km is the railway station for Bandhavgarh, it transports with all the major cities of India. The roadways transportation is the most convenient transportation for local movements. There is private bus service and also the state bus services operating in this place. February to June is the best time to visit Bandhavgarh. It is closed in the months of July to October.
